An historical and cultural gathering to commemorate the 160th anniversary of the arrival of the first of 4,114 female Irish Famine orphans who were brought to Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide between 1848 and 1850. Irish Famine Memorial, Sydney - web-site for an Australian memorial to the Great Irish Famine (1845-1848), located at Hyde Park Barracks, Sydney. A visit to the memorial is a must for anyone interested in Irish history and genealogy, especially those who can trace their ancestry to the Irish Famine Orphans.

Yass & District Historical Society Inc - hosts a local and family history seminar at St Clement's each March, attracting an audience from across southern and metropolitan areas of NSW. The society may be able to assist with information related to families who lived in the Binalong/Galong area.
